Taking a Peek at the Possible PlayStation 4 Specifications

Though it would translate to another budget shed, the gaming public is on the lookout for the newest generation of PlayStation that is yet to be released. With any technological product offered in the market, product features and specifications are among the detrimental factors that would make or break its stay on the market, or, serves as the yardstick whether consumers would be interested to buy it  or not. Among the most awaited PlayStation 4 specifications deal with how the new design would look like, expectations for an improved graphics, better controller ergonomics, additional features, and certainly an improved 3D gaming experience.

Starting with the proposed casing and design, the new PS4 will be manufactured using pure eco-friendly materials. It has been a tradition that most of the gaming consoles manufactured and made available on the market are made out of these favorable materials. It is expected that with the new PlayStation 4 specifications, it will have the highest percentage of recyclable materials used at an estimated rate of 60%.

Another expected feature is the new console’s ability to conserve energy. The “Eco Start” mode will no longer require users or game enthusiasts to switch the power on and off just to save a game or reload a previously saved one. After 30 minutes of inactivity or when the unit is not in use, it will automatically switch to standby mode. During standby, the unit will not consume any power, according to its proponents.

The console has a built in power regulator that would automatically determine when to use AC power or divert to a standby rechargeable battery cell. Hence, this PlayStation 4 specification will not only save on power consumption but will aid in the objective of prolonging the unit’s life span as well.

In gauging how powerful the new PS4 will be, it will still boil down on the hard disk’s capacity. It has been noted that some technical experts expressed their concern on PlayStation 3’s hard disk limitation. The new PlayStation has been projected to house a powerful 1.5 terabyte (TB) hard disk drive, enough to support even the most hardcore games which are currently available or yet to be programmed. PlayStation 4 specifications on the CPU are expected to consist of a 32nm 8 core processor, the ideal number of SPEs set to 16, and a 22 nm Kepler.

Sony has been one of the leaders in video and TV technology, that is why, the new PlayStation 4 will have an improved full 3D support and expected to be 4K2K compatible. As usual, it will support the high-definition Blu-Ray. Finally, PlayStation fanatics shouldn’t be surprised if this 4th generation console comes with a Kinect motion sensor controller. It has been said that negotiations for the addition of this technology has been finally set out.
